Here is the average cost to heat my 2,600-square-foot Amish barn with 26.5 feet tall ceilings, going off in-floor radiant heat that is powered by propane. This has proven to be an incredibly energy efficient way of heating a space this big, in an area this cold. I would have never known to choose this option if it had not been for the Amish! Hoping this information will help anyone else out there thinking about having a barn, barndominium, farm, etc. built this year. There's no one right way to do this, but I think the Amish got this as nearly perfect as possible.
